ICTs are technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications. They help users access, store, transmit and manipulate information. We use ICTs everyday in our home, job and school. Some examples of ICTs used at home are:
iPad: I use it to investigate information about the topics I see in school, to make activities and homework, to create presentations, graphs, slideshows, essays and other projects from school. I also use it for personal entertainment, to read, play the piano and interact with more apps.
Computer: it makes me easier to create complicated projects like long essays and elaborated slideshows in which I need to include graphs, images, videos and links. I can easily see and transmit family photos and videos, draw and paint images at the same time and play some videogames.
Cellphone: I use my cellphone to communicate with my parents, relatives, friends and school companions. It takes photos and videos, I can hear music and entertain myself by watching YouTube and playing games.
Television: I don’t use it always, but when I do, I can see programs, reality series, novels, movies and a large variety of sport games, soccer, football, basketball and baseball.
Internet: I can investigate all type of information I need for homework and projects for school. I can also look up the live results of games and play videogames.
Bluetooth: I can transmit documents, photos, videos from one electronic device to another. I can also connect my consoles to the server so I can play videogames online.
Social Media: It helps me communicate with family in good and bad situations fastly, with teachers and friends if I forgot some homework or to organize ourselves for some projects.
Console: it entertains me a lot. When I’m bored or don’t know what to do, I grab my console and play a little bit just too distract my brain of the real world.
In conclusion, ICTs are very important for our daily life. They make us the life easier and can help us a lot with projects, homework and other personal activities. ICTs also help us to remember good and old times, by being able to take photos and videos. Plus they entertain us with funny and creative videos and a lot of awesome videogames. If we didn’t have ICTs, life would have been very, very hard and complicated, but thanks to the technological advances in the areas of science, life is simple and easy.
